實驗室公約
大學部專題研究
- 初期準備階段
Step1. I will introduce you to 2 members of our lab as your mentors.
Step2. I will set up a bi-weekly online or physical meeting.
Step3. I will try to define the topic of your mini-research in the first few meetings.
- 基本專題研究步驟
A participating student will engage in the following activities until the mini-research is complete.
1. Take courses to establish needed technical background (e.g., 積體電路設計導論,時序電路
設計&emsp與應用等)
2. Survey papers to know the state-of-the-art methods for your mini-research problem.
IEEE Database of technical papers
3. Learn EDA software tools, e.g., logic synthesis, mixed-level simulation, and Automatic
Placement & Routing (APR) for cell-based design flow.
4. Design your solution and earn how to characterize the key performance metrics
of your solution.
5. Optimize your solution until it is up to your specification or expectation.
6. Create PowerPoint files to report your progress or to summarize your final solution.
7. Write a final WORD report to summarize your final solution.
8. Prepare the Poster for the “mini-research contest” required by the EE department at NTHU.
(規定要參加,佔部分專題總成績)
- 如何準備 bi-weely 討論會議
* Prepare a PowerPoint file containing the progress material you wish to discuss with me and your mentors.
(If you do not have meaningful progress, it is advised that you at least prepare a one-page PowerPoint summary).
(1) Title of your mini-research.
(2) Issues raised in prior meetings
E.g., what EDA tools need to be learned, what examples should you try first to get yourself
familiar with the tools before using the tools to design your circuit for this mini-research,
and how to characterize the performance of your design, etc.
(3) Progress if any
E.g., the EDA tools you have learned, and the circuits you have tried the tools on.
The experimental results of your circuit, e.g., simulation waveforms, layout, and performance metrics.
Or any ideas on solving some critical issues are highly welcome.
(4) Future plan and working items
E.g., the entire working schedule for your mini-research (this might be similar every week
but with some revision as time goes on),
and the next working items.
